I just thought I was smart!!!

So I was so proud of myself yesterday.  I made it to Rigby and decided I needed to clean out my car since we were going bowling for mutual and I would have girls riding with me.  I pull into the carwash and emptied all the trash out of my car and then when I went to pull out I heard "thump, thump, thump."  I had a flat tire.  Being a big girl with a great daddy, I thought I'd just change the tire!!  My daddy taught me well.  Well....he almost taught me well.   He taught me to change the tire but I missed the lesson on how to keep air in your spare so that when you needed it, it would work!!!  Yeah, I changed the tire with no problem to find out that my spare was completely flat!!!  That's when I became a wimply girl who called her husband to come rescue her!!  Sorry Daddy!!!  I tried!!

Comet

Comet
We went riding the other day. This beautiful horse was my stead. We went up toward Upper Palisaides but only made it to the lower lake before both the riders and the horses were tired beyond tired. Poor Comet's feet started hurting her. She made it through it all though. She was my trusty stead!

We made it up to the lower lake and there was a mommy moose and a baby moose. If you look really close in the background you can see them. It was pretty neat to just sit and watch them as they ate the moss off the bottom the the lake.

Dan and Mountain

Dan and Mountain
This is Dan's newest horse. His name is Mountain. He was the hardest horse of them all to catch!! Dan really enjoys him. He made me a little nervous. He's going to be a great horse though as long as he gets ridden a lot.

Caleb and Lowrider

Caleb and Lowrider
Caleb rode Lowrider. He did a great job leading out and being the head of our little group. I personally think he looks pretty great on a horse.

The end of the trip.

The end of the trip.
We finally made it to the end of the trip. We were sore but glad we had done it. It was a long trip but we were glad we had done it. The horses I think were the most happy that we were back.

Arizona (Aug. 22, 2010)

We went down to see Ben and Stef in Arizona. Little Sophie was so cute and Emily and Spencer kept us completely entertained. We showed up on Sunday and Caleb helped with the baby blessing and the rest of the evening was spent enjoying the company of Stef's immediate and extended family. That night we had a good game of wizard and got to sleep in before going out on our first expedition in AZ. The chocolate factory was our day's outing. We learned about the company and their current business. Ten pound chocolate bars got my attention!! These bars are sent to the factory by the hundreds for them to make their yummy treats. We got to sample one product they couldn't sale because it is owned by another company. They were only filling the order. It was a white chocolate with peppermint. We set out the next day to the museum in Phoenix. There were so many exhibits to see. This museum was super interactive!! It wasn't the typical see and read museum. Instead, you experienced the science. I greatly recommend visiting this museum to all. Sadly, like all adventures, even this one had to end the following morning. We left early to make it back to Idaho by that night. To add to my sight seeing, I got to see the Hoover Dam and a small part of the Grand Canyon. All in all, it was a wonderful trip.

Sophie

Super cute baby girl!! This was the day of Sophie's blessing.

This Santa was displayed at the candy factory. They said it took 3 days to make it.

Emily was the sweetest. She loved to make everyone laugh. She really enjoyed playing with grandma and loved to hold Sophie.

Spencer always had the cutest grin on his face. It made you think he was up to something. Sometimes he was but mostly he just smiled cutely!!

Caleb caught a BIG Fish!!

Caleb caught a BIG Fish!!
We were at Cabela's and I saw these big (stuffed) fish. I thought it made a funny picture so I had Caleb hold it up like a trophie fish.

Christmas Season (Dec. 14, 2009)

Christmas is just around the corner. Caleb and I are flying to Arkansas on Christmas eve to celebrate this wonderful season. Caleb is getting closer to finishing school and is really excited to get some of these classes over with. I am working for the Eastern Idaho Technical High School teaching Horticulture part-time and then I work at Journeys part-time. Caleb is being a great house husband and has dinner ready for me every evening when I get home. I have a new calling at church as the beehive teacher and I am having a blast. Caleb is still in primary and is loving the new class he has. One young man is very energetic and gets a little rowdy but he is the smartest student in his class. We currently have cookies enough to feed an army. I baked cookies all day Saturday to hand out to the different families we interact with at church. Busy busy. The year is coming to an end and there is still a lot to get done. Merry Christmas. Remember the Christ in Christmas this season. Love You all!!

Water Skiing (Aug. 1, 2009)

Today was so much fun. I finally got up on the water skis. It was both exciting and scary. I didn't ride for long without plunging back into the cold water of Palisades reservoir but I still stood up and rode for a little while. Of course Caleb is still the expert. Even though it has been more then a year, he stood right up and had no problems. "Just like riding a bike," he said. It was great fun. We had spent the morning doing a weeding service project and then weeding our own garden (which looks great now by the way) and decided it was very hot and a perfect day to go water skiing. It was only for a couple of hours but it was great.

As for everything else...I'm finally graduated!! That was definitely the highlight of my summer. I am now a college graduate!!! Yay for me!! Caleb is a little bummed that he still has around 3 more semesters but we'll get him through. My family came up for the week of graduation. It was so much fun. We went horseback riding, to Yellowstone, the sand dunes to ride the 4-wheeler, and just had loads of fun together. There was so much more we wanted to do but there just wasn't enough time to do it all. Next time we'll have to do everything we didn't have time to do this time. It was hard to see them go but I was exhausted by the weekend. Josh, Seth and Rachel were also here for a couple of days. We went fishing and played games. I haven't had so much playing Wizard as I did when Josh was playing with us. Too bad we weren't together in happier circumstances.

Now we are just chilling. I'm working at Journeys of an afternoon and Caleb is working around the house. He is looking for a job but there are not many to be found this year for just the 7 week break. Hopefully I'll get a teaching job and all our worries will be gone. wishful thinking :)

6 Months Later (July 15, 2009)

It's been a while but I thought is was about time to update our blog.

School is almost out. My family will be here on Monday and I am totally excited. Caleb is almost done with his car too and that is definitely exciting. We searched 3 auto stores today to find the right polisher and compounds so he can finish the job. I think he's ready for it to be done. The retaining wall is finished. Now all we have to do is back fill behind the tires and then we can start creating a yard!! Yay!! It will make our place look so much better. The garden is growing. The corn that Rachel's boys help plant is growing really good and Dan is so excited that I wouldn't doubt it if he was counting the day til harvest. I made the mistake of eating a radish straight from the garden. That put my mouth on fire. Good thing we don't grow jalapenos but I would hope I'd know better then to eat one of those straight. Miley is doing good. She enjoys the mornings that Caleb and I go out running. We have been very proud of how she doesn't chase the cars when we go running. Hopefully we'll be able to keep her from developing that habit. Caleb spent most of yesterday playing fetch with her and she usually won't bring the toy back to you for you to throw it again but he said that she was getting so good that she would set it in his lap so that is fun and exciting. She is such a playful dog and loves to play with Dan's lab puppies but she gets a little rough with them at times.

Well...I guess I can start counting down until I graduate from college. I have 8 day until I no longer have to attend school. I'll officially be a college graduate. I think I'm ready but I know that I'll miss it. I always enjoyed the beginning of a semester when I was actually excited for what I was learning. College has been great but I'm ready to move on to something new. Now I just have to keep Caleb focused because he was ready to graduate a long time ago.

The fall is all around us and I love it. Halloween and Thanksgiving are coming and I can't wait!!

The Beginning (Oct. 6, 2008)

This is so exciting. I'm starting our blog and have no clue what I'm doing but it's going to be great fun. Caleb and I are spending a lot of time going to school and doing homework. We spend all day basically on campus or in Rexburg. School is going good but keeps us quite busy. I'm currently working to go to Indianapolis where Shawnee (a friend of mine at school) will be working a booth at the National FFA Convention in hopes of recruiting for the College Department. Conference was wonderful and gave me a lot of peace. Caleb and I stayed with Seth and Rebecca and had a great time.
